Room to Grow is a trauma-informed and judgment-free sanctuary, giving members a safe place to receive all the supports we offer such as

1: Emotional Support: with empathy, caring, and concern that builds one’s self-esteem and confidence.

2: Informational Support: by sharing knowledge, information through referrals for skills building.

3: Instrumental Support: seeking case management or other services to help accomplish tasks such as filling out applications, helping members obtains benefits that include food stamps, health insurance, and housing.

4: Affiliation Support: To contact with others in recovery to promote social and recreational skills, create a community and acquire a sense of belonging in a substance-free environment

Here members can reinforce their recovery and/or learn about recovery while they build skills and the unique strengths they may not know they possess within themselves. We believe and promote multiple pathways of recovery and the Peer Participatory Process meaning a member chooses the recovery process that works for them, at their own pace with the hope that he/she will eventually feel comfortable to take the next step and help the center continue to evolve and prosper.

We are guided by what is known as the 8 Recovery Support Center Practices which are designed to help guide the community to being respectful to self and others in the space and in the pursuit of recovery. Many members have been struggling with homelessness and addiction for many years. Sometimes, old habits become survival skills and can be a difficult as well as a slow process to change, so we ask members to be understanding and respectful by maintaining confidentiality” who you see here, what you hear here, stays here.” We strive daily to keep the center a warm and welcoming place It is our vision to keep the center a safe and non-judgmental so members have “Room to Grow”.
